  • My son gives his puppy apple slices. How many, I don't know.
Yesterday I gave her 3 slices of orange and she loved it!

  • Raw apple makes a healthy and delicious treat for dogs. I don't think you can overdo it except that if the pup is small, you probably don't want her to eat the seeds and core or she might throw them up because she's not ready to digest that much roughage.

  • Apples are fine...just not apple seeds. Clear apple of all seeds first and let the puppy enjoy!

  • dogs are actually omnivores. Some people put their dogs on vegetarian diets. Apple is fine.

  • She's 2.7 lbs Ballad. I know BIL lets his dog eat quite a few slices, but he's 16 lbs and about 6 years old. I'll let her try a couple little bites tomorrow and see how it goes ;o).

  • I've had dogs all my life (40yrs), and have never given them fruit. Dogs are carnivores, and that's the only thing we feed ours. Their system is built for meat, anytime you give them something different you're taking a chance on giving them digestive problems.
Our Vet has also said that we shouldn't change their diet too often, because it could upset their stomach. If I give them treats it's an all meat jerky, not anything with fruits, veggies, or grains....
