Do you have a wood fireplace or gas?

How long during the day do you have it on? And do you feel it gives you the right heat?

  • Gas. I keep it on pretty much all day. Wood is much better as far as heat goes, but the convenience of gas is really nice.

  • We have a wood fireplace. We only light it twice a year on Holidays. Gives no real heat at all, basically makes the upstairs of the house much colder since it pulls the heat from upstairs & right out the chimney. I would like to convert to gas since it's easier to just turn it on & no cleaning out after.

  • I hate our fireplace. It is gas with a electric start. If the electricity goes out we can not start it.  It is a new type that you can not light with a lighter.

  • I have a wood burning fireplace, but I have never used it. In our rental I am not sure if it even works and I would have to pay to have it checked, so I figured didn't need it that bad.

  • Gas fireplace but I wish it was wood. We live in the woods, so no shortage of that - gas is so expensive! We hardly ever use it and when we do it's not really for heat, just atmosphere. We have forced air heat to keep the house at 69 during the day.
