Anyone been referred out???

dd is 4 almost 5 and we recently had a sleep study done which revealed a mild sleep disturbance?? im not even really sure what that means to be honest!! but now they referred us out to a pulmonologist?? we go in for our first appointment thurs the 17th. has anyone else had this done??

  • It's all related. They might think that her issues are of an asthmatic condition, allergies, etc. A Pulmonologist also would read her sleep study. Maybe he thinks breathing treatments or an inhaler are needed. Maybe there were some periods of brief apnea on the study, but he feels they were more from an asthmatic episode.....

  • im so confused her test results didnt show any kind of sleep apnea?!! so why would they referred out to a lung and respiratory specialist??

  • Sure. It's not a big deal. They are coordinating care to cover what is causing the sleep disturbance. Sounds like you have excellent doctors.

  • Yes my daughter had a sleep study due to severe asthma.
