Tax questions

Everyone here at work is saying that tax places are not allowed to submit anything into the IRS until January 30th?
Also that tax refunds will be delayed- possibly until April??

  • I've heard that.. My boss actually filed his taxes last week, but he didn't really say anything. I do know that the IRS will not be accepting the tax forms until the 30th, but I don't believe the April thing is legit.

  • Business and self employment taxes are paid quarterly.

  • Tax laws are not final yet so no I do not think they can. This was on of those cliff issues.

  • Delays until February or March: Further delays will be for people filing residential energy credits, depreciation of property (form 4562) or general business credits. Those tax returns will be delayed until late February or into March.

  • I filed mine today with H & R Block, it just said that is would not be accepted by the IRS until the 30th. But I already E-filed. I have not heard anything about any other delays.
