Tried and true recipes

I just bought a slow cooker not too long ago. Can anyone provide a good recipe that they love using their slow cooker? I made dinners with recipes that I found online but none of them wow-ed me at all. Thanks!

  • Not much of a recipe gir. I do like making a pork or beef roast with a jar of Herdez salsa over top & cook slow, always good.

  • pot roast con't:

In a slow cooker, mix cream of mushroom soup, dry onion soup mix, red wine and beef broth. Add 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce. Season the roast with generous amounts of seasoning salt,or salt. Add thyme, rosemary, and pepper. Pat flour all over the roast, add oil and butter to a heated skillet and brown on high only a few minutes each side. Place browned roast in the slow cooker. Add the sliced onions to the skillet where you browned the beef and cook until onions are soft, then add them to the slow cooker, add mushrooms. Cook on Low setting for 8 to 9 hours. When done, lift roast out and fish out onions. Whisk in 2 TBS sugar and 1 packet of brown gravy to sauce. Add cornstarch one table spoon at a time until thickened. Add water if it gets too thick. Slice the roast and serve with gravy.
