My 3yo has an foul odor... adult content

My three year old daughter has a foul odor coming from her vagina. I'm getting worried about it. I showed her how to wipe properly but I'm not sure if she's doing what I showed her. There's no discharge, and I just got some wipes for her to use as well. I was thinking a yeast infection maybe but her vagina isn't swollen or red?

Have you had this problem? What should I do?

  • If you can't identify the problem yourself - meaning, its not a problem with wiping - I would be calling the ped. Not good to ignore odors.

  • um..are you giving her a bath? how well are you washing? if it doesn't go away with a good bath, time to see the doctor

  • Well although the odor can be coming from her not wiping correctly or washing correctly when bathing, good news is that she isnt swollen or red. I recommend you taking her to her doctor, she could have a urinary tract infection.

  • Are you sure it isn't her anus?
Is it poopie-esque or yeasty? meaty?

  • Ummm it's just smells. It's not urine-y or poop-y... not fishy... idk how to place it but it is strong. It'll seep into her jeans and linger even when we take them off...

  • Take her to the Dr, it shouldnt be ignored, prob just some sort of bacterial inbalance, but not treated it could just get worse.

  • I'm going to go with yeast. What happens after a bath? Better or worse? Odor right away or not until next day?

  • Doctor time. Could be something that needs attention.

  • It's okay, she just wasn't wiping as she should. It took some drastic measures, including holding her stinky underwear in her face so she could understand, but we're clean now! Thanks
