Adam Lanza did not use AR15 weapon in gun shooting, and was denied sale of gun due to failing background check

Have you heard this information yet? I just saw something floating around on Facebook that was posted yesterday, but the original video aired December 15th.

He left his "assault rifle" in the trunk of this mother's car. He tried to buy his own weapon but apparently Connecticut is among one of the states with "stricter gun laws" so he was denied because of his unsavory background check.

He used four hand guns in the shooting.

Very interesting, amidst all this gun controversy.

  • It's a key piece of info the gun debate

When you're dealing with people who insist that it doesn't matter if they can't tell one gun from another, everything relevant will go over their heads. Remember - sperm is rejected in real rape, and all guns are the same.

  • No offense, but can these poor children & innocent adults please just rest in peace?  Nothing would've stopped him, since he had access to guns bought legally by his mother.  Just like the teenager who wiped out his whole family the other day.  He too used guns the family had in the home.  The article I read on that, said how much he liked to play violent video games.  People want to place blame on something, anything, when something so horrific happens.  It's not the games, it's not the guns, it's the sick minds in sick individuals.

  • I hadn't heard he was denied a sale due to a failed background check,

That was in the news not long after, but it got buried in all the talking heads throwing around the different ban ideas being discussed. Just like a lot of people still believe his mother was some kind of doomsday prepper, but it wasn't true - she was just a rich target shooter with a hobby who kept her guns locked in a safe like any other normal person.

  • Most of the people whining about guns can't tell an AR-15 from a revolver, they think they're all just "scary guns". You could tell them he used a slingshot and they'd still demand a gun ban.

  • thats interesting and sad that it isnt being made more widely known. its kinda like how the media tried to make yesterday's Houston shooting into more than just gang activity on a college campus.

  • The media only lets out what it wants to. Along with the politicians with an agenda.

  • it's the media... they want to only put out what they want the people to know. I think they need to stop putting names of shooters out there and stop giving them the notoriety that they crave. I know some of them will take their lives such as the Adam guy... but a lot of it is copy cat stuff and they want to be "famous" like all the rest.

So now it looks like they will want to ban hand guns too... :0/
