What generation are you living in the USA?

My Dad's Parents were both born in Italy & my Mom's Parents were born in Ireland & Germany. Both my Parents were born here so I'm second generation in the US on both sides. How about you?

  • i know that my mom's great grandparents' line were one of the founding families for a suburb outside of Houston, TX. so they must have lived there from the 1830s when Americans moved to Texas while it was still owned by Mexico. my dad's side of the family was apart of the Land Run of 1889 (Oklahoma) so they were probably at least second generation themselves.

DH's grandmother's line traces back to the Virginia Company and Jamestown...so he's about as "from here" as a white person can be haha.

  • I have no idea. I qualify through my mom's side of the family to be a member of the DAR.
On my father's side, the "newest" American is my grandmother, her grandmother came here from France, so that would mean I'm 4th generation from her.

  • 1701 is when the first ancestor came to the America's.(On my father's side). From my mother's side it was the mid 1800's. So we've been in the US for some time now.
