Has anyone had a positive gender ID at 12 weeks?

We are having our first u/s at 12 weeks and don't want to find out the sex. I really want to see the u/s because our last was a loss, but I don't want to accidentally see something like with our son at 16 weeks.

  • No, not that early. The earliest is 16 & most doctors wait until 20 wks for gender reveal

  • I don't think the parts are even obvious at 12 weeks.

  • Even guesses are going to be accurate once in a while. At 12 weeks it's just a guess. I wouldn't take a tech's word for anything at that point in a pregnancy.

  • It won't be visible yet.

  • I got a positive gender at 13 weeks, but only because the Tech and the doctor knew what they were looking at. I would not have been able to tell the sex on my own without them explaining. At 12/13 weeks the genders look the same it is just the angle of the nub that tells them what it will turn into. at 13 weeks we were told 75% sure it was a boy and just had it confirmed at 22 weeks it is a boy. But once again I would never had been able to tell the 13 week on my own, now the 22 week one is very easy to tell. Congrats and good luck :)
