  • I never had a contraction before being induced. My contractions early on ( when I wasn't dialated) were uncomfortable but not painful. I was expecting like a sharp stabbing pain or something but my whole stomach just tightened then released.

  • Well my contractions didn't hurt that bad...but they were annoying! lol I didn't even know I was having contraction, since everybody told me they felt like a sharp stabbing pain.....I called my doctor late at night because i was having this burning sensation on my lower stomach and didn't hurt it was just annoying because it didn't let me sleep. So i told him what was happening and he said i was having contractions to go to the hospital and i did and i was already 5cm dilated but my water hadn't broken yet....once he broke it then that burning stomach ache feeling got more intense...well that was my short story!! :) hope it helped some what.

  • My contractions felt just like very very strong period cramps. Yes, they hurt, but it is over very quickly and easily forgotten once you see your baby!

  • I had horrible back labor. i dont remeber my stomach tightening up that much, i remember waking up the night before i had my daughter and my lower back would kinda ache for a minute and i just knew it was a contraction. i took some tylonal and went to bed, the next day they got worse, towards the end it felt like someone was hitting me in the lower back with a sledge hammer.... i dont really remember much till i got my epi. it hurt so bad i guess i just blocked it out. but i had almost no stomach pain just a sort of pressure.. but yeah its different for everyone, i hate how much guess work that comes with being pregnant... lol hope this helped

  • For me they felt like normal period cramps, until transition. Then it felt like someone dropped a cinder block on my stomach. I literally peed myself with every contraction for about 20 minutes, then it was time to push. (I had no meds of any kind)
