  • How is someone a "board of the state"? Do you mean "ward of the state"? Which is what happens when children are taken away from their parents?

  • It means they will be in the care of the state aka foster system.

  • Unless they have the authority to take them away from you, I'd tell them to piss off! (only not quite so nicely!)

  • They're still talking out their asses. Divorce doesn't mean the kids become wards of the state, until the divorce is finalized even with a custody dispute. So unless there are some underlying circumstances like both parents in jail or physical/substance abusers then it's just bullshit.

  • Unless this person's name is signed on official documents, stating their authority to say such, i'd say their intentions were to piss off the receiver.

  • Was this a threat to make you not get a divorce? Unless they are already out of the home, they are just being nasty.

  • ive never heard of a normal divorce forcing kids in the system. there would have to be some underlying reason for kids to be taken away, and divorce doesnt cut it.

id say whoever told you that is stupid, and maybe they think saying something like that will scare you from getting a divorce?
