It is so simple and tasty.
4 large onions
2cups shredded Swiss
Cream of chicken ( use mushroom if vegetarian)
Melt butter in a skillet and add 4 large onions. Saute onions until clear. In a shallow 2 qt. casserole dish, layer onions, 2/3 of swiss cheese and pepper to taste.
In a sauce pan, heat cream of chicken soup, 2/3 cup milk, and 1tsp soy sauce, stirring to blend. Pour soup mixture in casserole and mix. Top with bread slices. Bake at 350 uncovered for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, top of bread will be toasted.
Push bread slices under the sauce and top with the remaining cheese. Put back in oven and bake 15 minutes.
