White or Red? It is our anniversary so help me out quick, on the way to the store!

I am making pasta cabonara, so it has bacon, but for some reason I think I should go with a white wine?
Also a good dessert on the fly? I will need to pick it up, got off much later than expected!

  • Dry white - chardonnay (the carbonara is a heavier sauce)
    or a light red - like a pinot noir (carbonara is heavier but it wouldn't stand up to a stout red
    I might even get a Malbec (red) (one of my favorites)

  • I would go with a white, but really any wine that you like to drink will go with your dinner
