How close is Piney Wood to Houston?

We are looking to move to Texas in the very near future,my Sister lives in Houston off of Katy Way....we loved it there but would like more of Country Area but still close to our Family in Houston,we know there are some rough areas we need to stay away from........I've also heard Wimberly is country area but told it's 3 hours from Houston,think we want to be closer to Houston for family. Any suggestions would be GREATFUL !

  • Piney Wood or Piney POINT<~~~~~ Piney point is an area I would stay far far far far away from. Katy used to be a really nice area but it is slowly declining. So are the schools.
