  • We did our taxes on Wed, they say IRS isn't taking any files until Jan 30th, and we were told it would be 21 days at most to get our money back, we were not offered any sort of rapid refund.

  • Depends on what you mean by rapid refund.

There was talk last year at this time of getting rid of or at least limiting the rapid refund loans. They are a rip off and target lower income people who withhold too much and then count on a big return at the beginning for the year. The rapid refund loan is much like those stupid payday loans.

As far as filing... the IRS won't accept efile for personal returns until Jan 30th this year. If you have your refund direct deposited, it can take 7- 21 days, I think.

  • Yes I saw a sign it is crazy. E file and get it back in 2 weeks direct to your checking account. Don't turn over your money to these places that are basically legalized loan sharks.

  • I do ours online (H&R Block) and I saw something about an Emerald Card don't know if that is r.r. or not. I am pretty sure it was being offered to me but I didn't look at it, we just wait for our d.d.
