How do I get Clomid w/ no insurance?

I live in the great commonwealth of KY, I wont have insurance until I am eligible for it at work(will be soon). Is there any other way (other than going to a specialist and paying out of pocket) to get clomid or other fertility enhancing Rx's. Will a primary care physician prescribe anything like that?

  • If you can not afford the drug then I would guess you really can't afford to be pregnant right now. I suggest you just wait until you have the insurance.

  • First, Clomid is not the first thing they'll do (or they shouldn't). There are several tests you'll need to have done to determine if you even need it. They'll see if you're ovulating at all on your own, etc.

Typically this is not handled by a general practitioner. You should anticipate going to your Gynecologist for assistance.
