Baking with Alcohol

I have cooked with alcohol; wine, whiskey etc. But I have never Baked with alcohol. Does the alcohol cook out when baking the same as it does when cooking?

  • And the short answer is no. There can be anywhere from 4-78% of alcohol left when cooking or baking.

  • better homes and garden had a magazine out last fall with an article about it along with a bunch of different recipes in it. they will send you their recipes to your email and you don't have to sign up for their magazine. i've been getting it since summer last year. i've never cooked with it personally so i don't know the answer, hubby has lots of times but he's not here right now. he's cooking at the d.a.v. tonight.
