Freckles ?

Were people who have freckles born with freckles ? Or do they come in as one grows ? I have never seen a baby with freckles.

  • I think they grow into them. I sure hope my daughter gets freckles! My husband is Salvadorean and I'm white and my daughter has this beautiful olive complexion...I think she would look so cute with some little dark freckles :)

  • I have a ton of freckels. I'm covered head to toe. I wasn't born with them but they came as I got older. My son is 2 now and just now showing a sprinkiling of them on his nose. My husband loves my freckels and I hope my son has them. Just maybe not as bad as I do.

  • freckles are a reaction to the sun - like a permanent tan, just a little at a time ;-)
they are made from melanin, just like any skin colorations that are sunlight reactions

  • I'm pretty sure freckles are a result of sun exposure. I know in my baby pictures I didn't have any but, as my daughter mentioned the other day, I have them all over my cheeks and nose now.

None of my kids have freckles right now even though both me and my husband have them (I have way more then he does, though). Mine get more noticeable in the summer when I've been out in the sun and I seem to get more and more every year.

  • I wasn't born with them, but I definitely got them. I'm a very very white girl, tons of light freckles, brown hair, blue eyes. I was born dark with jet black hair, my gramma thought I was the milk man's baby. Lol.

  • I'm a redhead and I've got tons of freckles. They are from the sun. It's like a suntan, but in spots rather than smooth and even.

  • I was born with porcelin white skin. They're caused by the sun and some studies show that if you cut out all refined sugars you wont get anymore freckles and the ones you do have will go away. I keep telling myself I'll test it out but I never had so *shrugs*

  • lol I don't really see how sugar would affect melanin - so have all the candy ya want!

  • I wasn't born with them, but I sure had a lot of them all over my body as a child and on into my teens. Funny thing is, as an adult and I became busy being a mom, college student, and employee, they faded over the years. Now I only have a few here and there.
My oldest daughter has a lot of them all over her body like I did and she is 20 now. We'll see if hers fade, too.
