Is this a new trend or just something different at my child's school?

My child goes to a K-8 school. Lately we've notice more of the older boys carrying girl's backpacks. I don't mean to be a gentleman, I mean that the backpacks are theirs. My dau asked me why boys would like backpacks meant for girls. I said maybe they're making the statement that they're too cool to care. I really don't know tho. Is this happening where you live? Just curious.

If they are in kindergarten then Kai Lan is for both boys & girls at that age. The Disney one must be a hand me down. They aren't that embarrassed by those things at that age. My Son loved My Little Pony at 5.

the middle schools i sub at dont allow kids to carry backpacks around school, so i wouldnt know. sounds like an interesting fad haha.
