  • Spray it down with cooking spray, or coat it with melted butter then flour it... make sure to get into all the creases.

  • After I flour the pan should I shake it out so it's not too much flour?

  • Yes... definitely shake out the excess flour. Good luck.

  • You want to do like the others said with the spray and flour but another helpful tip is to place the cake upside down as soon as you take it out of the oven. I usually put mine on an old coke bottle to cool. The bottle fits perfectly in the hole in center of the pan. I sometimes just place it on my serving platter to cool too. Don't try to remove the cake from the pan until it is completely cooled off.

  • cat1622 - no no no, if you put a regular cake upside down it's going to fall out - you only do that with angel food cake Youc an't leave it cool completely either in the pan. ugh.

look by the cooking spray for bakers joy - it's a spray oil & flour in one. use it very liberally. Works wonders every time! And yes, turn it upside down on a cooling rack as soon as you take it out of the oven.
