After a child is diagnosed with herpangina , when is it safe for them to return to child care?

  • NO! You have to wait till it is cleared before your child returns. If you send a contagious child to daycare it will just keep spreading.

  • About a week, or until the blisters heal. Poor thing....it's really painful

    This is not accurate. Your child should not be returned to daycare until there are no longer any active blisters. Antivirals are not a substitute for that.
