" No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do. Can't be with that sweet stuff. Nah…can't be…in the locker room man. Nah"

The 49ers Chris Culliver.  That's the SAN FRANCISCO 49ers. Those words spoken while officially representing his team and city, not while speaking as his own private person.  Should he still have a job?

  • Nope! He's an idiot! I mean he's in San Fran, FFS! Talk about bad press.

  • I think he should be fined. Heavily. With a warning he will lose his job if he speaks publically about an issue while representing the team. If asked what he thought in an interview it is tricky. Best response if asked is I am paid to do my job and my team mates are paid to do a job. Our personal views may vary over lots of social issues but our focus is how to win games.

  • That was painful to read. He sounds like such a bigot, such a moron. I hope he is fined heavily. I wonder how his fellow team members feel about that statement?

  • Can't really unring that bell now, can he?

What good is a fine going to do? Fire his ass.

Man, I'm crabby. But still. Fire his ass. His sentiments are his own, and he has a right to them but if any one of us brought such negative press down on our organization you can bet we'd be fired

  • I could think of several fitting punishments, none of which involve lubricant.

  • I thought these teams had higher standards for their public image?
Oh wait....we are talking about organized sports. They can do anything, even commit murder, and everyone still keeps on lovin' them all. Keep on keeping on-athletics have a free pass for anything.
