  • Is he smiling in response to your smile? Does everything else seem 'on track?' If so I would not worry too much just yet.

  • He smiles when I smile, he smiles when we play peek a boo & is being sung too but he won't laugh. I tickle him and he smiles. He's does great tummy time & holding his head up he holds his bottle recognizes his bottle and cereal & spoon. He does great in his jumperoo. My 1st son was very serious until about 5 or 6 months so idk. I know all babies are different but my cousin had her son the exact same day as I and her son is seems more advanced just by a little though. He is sitting up better and babbles a whole lot more along with laughing.

  • Does he look around when someoe comes into the room, or there's a startling noise?

  • My almost 8 month old doesn't laugh 99% of the time and my 1st was the same way. They "laughed" in every sense of the gesture but not the actual noise. The baby only laughs out loud when she is tired. haha
If your baby passed all the hearing test and reacts to things, even looks, I really wouldn't worry.

  • have you had his hearing checked? Most babies are checked at birth but it is a thought.

  • His hearing was checked at birth and it was outstanding. He does respond to us talking to him. & he follows us around the room. I would go as far as to say he already knows his name maybe I'm over reacting!
