What's up with the highlighted words?!

Recently I've noticed that some words get highlighted & was wondering why? I just answered a question using the word "bonus" and it got highlighted. Weird.

  • I've never seen a highlighted word. I get a red underline when I spell a word wrong, but no highlights.

  • I have seen it on mine, but not much on this site. It's usually words like insurance or savings. Things people would search for mostly.

  • Are you on Chrome? Check your extensions......I had a rogue extension that was active that did just this very thing and the highlighted crap was an advertisement.

  • It did it in another question on ADD/ADHD. Maybe I'm just seeing it on my end? I'm using hubby's laptop today since my computer is being worked on so I don't know if that's why.
