My four-year-old daughter was sitting next to me in a booth at a restaurant this morning. She started roughly tickling me on the face, so I asked her what on earth she was doing.
"I'm crinkling you."
"Yeah. Giving you crinkles."
"What are crinkles?" I asked, a little confused.
"You know, those little lines on your face," she said in that overly patient tone someone gets when they're telling you something everyone else in the world knows. "Mommies get crinkles on their faces after their kids come out of their tummies."
"Oh? Why do mommies get crinkles?"
"Because their kids make them, silly."
Wiser words were never spoken!
