Do the army always do blood exams before deployments?

  • Typically, yeah. One of the screens they typically do is an HIV or STD screen before deployment. That's just ONE. There are usually a number that are tested and it's to prevent the spread of infectious disease, especially before deployment where they do not necessarily have the same accessibility to hospitals that can handle certain pathogens.

  • Yes, they do the full physical, blood test included. They need to make sure the troop is healthy before sending them to war.
