Can you feel dilation?

  • Sometimes you can, not the act of your cervix dilating, but the contractions that cause it to dilate. You usually know you are dilating based on contractions, even if it's not dilating much (when your in labor at least) :)

  • I don't think I felt myself dilate but I have felt cramping feeling that made me go into the doctor and I have always dilated from those cramps.

  • I know I couldn't. The only way I could tell is by the DR telling me that I was.

  • I didn't feel the actual dialation with either of my kids- but I did feel the pressure increase down there as I was dialiating...If that makes sense : )
