Oh man.
Yeah, maybe she let the cat out of the bag.
Although I was sort of cracking up about the theoretical semantic possibility for veiled/indirect snideness, given her use of "effect."
Normal verb use would be "affect" which would mean to influence or impact (your travel plans.) The problem might affect your plans and interfere with them, causing you to change them. That would be disappointing. While "effect" used as a verb (rather than its more common usage as a noun) means causing something or bringing something about, so essentially her sentence as-is says "I hope that this problem doesn't cause you to come down in May." Or "I hope that this problem doesn't result in plans for you to visit." lol
Obviously that is not what she meant, but having read "Gawd, she's funny" set me looking for anything funny or off about her comment.Found an answer to your question?

I barely talk to the woman. SO e-mails her several times during the day.
They have probably been planning this since baby was born.

she is funny Girl
she posted around xmas that i was getting a keurig
so the day after xmas i was to SO, "Umm, so thats all the gifts"? but nervous as hell because I didnt want him to think i wasnt satisfied i showed him the CM post about it and he was like, "wow, mom's old, idk"lol
and the subtle difference between affect and effect, lol I completely glossed over it
