Before I leave Memory Lane ...

Do you remember the world before Wal-Mart?

How about when Subway first opened, and it was the coolest thing ever to go there and see your sandwich made right in front of your eyes?

And Shakey's Pizza, where you could watch the cooks through the big window to the kitchen?

  • no, no, and yes. I loved Shakee's. The pizza was so good, it was cool to watch them cook and the arcade games were fun too. I went to a couple birthday parties there. It was pretty cool.

What about Ponderosa? They had the BEST buffet.

  • Shakey's is a very fond memory.
Walmarts were opening when I was a child but did not get to where I lived until the end of my high school years.
I remember dad saying it was silly to go to subway when we could do just as well with deli meats right here.
Yup I made the fresh bread and made all the fixin's.
