1 Bump

Asking for a friend -

She's 31 weeks and has been having pain in her upper left abdomen all day - she says it comes & goes, but not like contractions - this is her 3rd and she never had it with her other 2. There's no nurse-line or after hours number to call - if she calls the hospital/L&D they'll just say to come in, but she can't as her DH is at work and she doesn't have anyone who can be with her other 2 kids right now. She doesn't feel it's an emergency either, it's just bugging her. Any ideas?

  • Oh - she also said it doesn't feel like a gas build-up or like baby's been kicking the same spot over & over. Baby's moving just fine too.

  • She said not a kidney stone, she's had them and this is different. Pancreatitis - neither of us knows what that is lol. She's calling her doc in the morning, I still think it's gas and/or baby hurting her ;o).

  • i only had back labor until the 4th child
i had no fucking idea what was going on with belly labor
i was in hospital and began panicking until i was told what was happening

lay on the left side? drink some juice? and put the feet up

i think that is how youre supposed to determine if it's braxton hicks

  • Inflammation of the pancreas
Stones can hurt in different areas. Upper abdominal, lower, back pain
    Does she have a cough?

  • It's definitely not BH. No cough - I asked her too if she's getting sick and she said she doesn't have any symptoms of anything. She says "things that make you say hmmmmm!".

  • It could be muscular.....baby is positioned in a way that is causing some pressure.

  • She can call any nurse line from any insurance company and they will talk to her.

But they will just ask her a line of questions to determine if she is in labor and even if she answers no to all of them refer her to the hospital.
