Why does it make me sick to eat during the morning hours?

Literally- I can't eat anything until around 2pm. I tried yogurt yesterday morning and cereal this morning and could only get a couple bites down before I felt terribly sick to my stomach. I was hungry both times.

I am ending up eating two servings of dinner at night- which isn't the greatest- duh.

  • it often happens to me. A piece of toast and nothing heavy or sugary seems to do the trick.

  • I can't eat much beyond granola or toast first thing in the morning. Try starting with something simple like that, or wait a few hours before you try eating.

  • It might be worth avoiding milk in the morning and seeing how it goes. I can't tolerate milk. I usually just eat a half a bagel or something with my coffee in the morning and then wait for lunch. By then, I can eat more. You might also try Tums in the moning. They have calcium, and they will also combat the stomach acids that can build up during the night. My doc told me that when I was pregnant, and I've done it off and on ever since.
