Finger foods for dinner party

I am throwing a party at dinner time but I only want to do finger foods. People will be coming and going and I don't have enough proper seating for a sit down meal. I'd like some cold foods that can stay sitting out and some hot foods to come out through out the evening. Any ideas on what to serve? Please only finger foods! Thanks

  • Take grapes, cover them in cream cheese to make a ball and roll them in chopped pistachios. Keep them in the fridge until ready to serve.
Phyllo or puff pastry triangles. Fill them with spinach ricotta mixture, or mashed potatoes and peas.
Breaded and fried zuchinni and eggplant sticks with marinara sauce for dipping
Sushi mold- make sushi rice and using a jell-o or cake mold covered with plastic, put half the rice and press, put any filling you like- smoked salmon or tuna, cream cheese, avocado, cucumber, whatever you like and add the rest of the rice on top. Press firmly and unmold in a platter. Serve with soy sauce with lemon and orange juice.
Falafel chicken- get boxed falafel mix and make a batter with water or mineral water until it's like pancake batter. Cut chicken breasts in bite size pieces, cover them in the batter and deep fry until golden. Serve with hummus and tahini sauce for dipping.

  • Mini quesadillas with various fillings
Mini pizzas made with mini bagels or mini pitas
Spaghetti pizza cut into bite size pieces.
    Chicken Satay
Yakitori (Guy Fieri has a good chicken yakitori recipe on the Food Network website, I use his sauce and made the kebabs with button mushrooms and onion, it was a hit)

  • My faves are:

Soften a block of cream cheese. Dollop a nice serving dish with hot pepper jelly. Place the cream cheese on the slather and artfully slather more pepper jelly over the cream cheese. Serve with crackers

    Spinach dip with tortilla chips

    toasted pita with tzatziki

homemade chex mix (but add quite a bit of mixed nuts to the recipe)
