What did/are/will your kids have for an after school snack today?

Mine will have either applesauce or an apple, and a fresh-baked muffin or 2 (I made lemon poppyseed, chocolate chunk, and blueberry).

  • My mother picks my son up from school and she usually lets him sucker her in to either Starbucks for a chocolate milk or 7-11 for a bag of chips.

  • My daughter had a snowday and my boys are still preschool age, so the "after school" doesn't apply.

But my boys have an afternoon violin lesson on Fridays that gets them home around 5 p.m. They both were hungry & we were starting from scratch regarding our dinner preparations, so we opted to give them a "heavy snack" and we had a late dinner. (I napped after getting home, before starting in on cooking. lol)

So Friday's afternoon snack: Both of them had big peanut butter sandwiches and about 8 oz. of leftover smoothie each. (The smoothie was buttermilk, plain yogurt, 2 bananas, 6 frozen strawberries, about a cup of frozen blueberries & raspberries, 2 tbsp coconut oil, an orange cut up, and a splash of OJ)

My daughter wasn't hungry right then but had a banana before dinner.
