Do you have kids with the same name in your family? It's the new fad?

I have two cousins that are siblings ( brother and sister). They have planned their kids at the same time so they'll be very close in age, and they've named them ALL the same name.

They are now on their 4th child. I never know which Alex or which Bella, Hannah, etc everyone is talking about. They said its a new fad. Have you heard of this?

  • That is just nuts. I shot down a bunch of names DH liked when we had our kids, because my cousins (or his) already gave their kids those names. I'd be pissed if a relative, knowing my kids' names, gave their kids the same names.

  • Wow. Sounds pretty lame to me. My kids have 12 cousins to play with. The oldest is 22 the youngest is 2. The closest ANY of the cousins come to same names is Michael/Michele as a middle name.

  • Wow... never heard of this one. My sibs and I would never have been able to agree on names!! LOL. So no worries there. I do have friends who are siblings and their kids all have the same middle names... All the boys are Adam and all the girls are Lyn.

  • I've never heard of this before. It sounds bizarre to me that adults would do something like this to their children, knowing it's just a fad.

  • How do they know they're having the same gender at the same time?

  • I have two cousins named Penny. But this was a while ago...one is 40, other is like 35. I personally find it tacky.
