I think it's highly suspicious that he's deciding to resign so soon after discovering the world of Twitter. I think he's using his health as a respectable excuse, when the real reason is that he wants to see what else the cyber world has to offer . . .

It does sound like he had a closet full of dirty little secrets. That may be what's been eating away at his health, too.
