Why do I wear my heart on my sleeve?

I am guilty of that too. It is not always a bad thing. I know for me, I am a passionate person. I believe in goodness. I like people to know what I am about so they feel safe around me. Most people who wear their hearts on their sleeve have another great quality and that is Empathy. We never want anyone to feel uncomfortable or insecure around us. It is tied to treating others how you want to be treated and in a sense for me anyway, people know exactly who you are and what you are about and that keeps you safe. On the downside, it also lets others know your weaknesses. I have been burned before, because of that. Now I am more conscientious of who I put my sleeve out to, You are a good person.
