My 4 year old just lost his first tooth!?

Is this common so young? I thought closer to 6 was normal, he wont even be 5 until August! He lost a lower front tooth and Im noticing the next one is loose as well. He did cut those 2 particular ones early, around 3 months and within days of each other. Could that be why he's losing them so early!? I'm just a bit shocked!

Wow, that seems young. My daughter will be five in a few weeks, and her teeth are all still firmly in place. Every kid is different, though.

that is quite early, never heard of a child that young but hey, anything can happen. I would probably call dentist tomorrow to be sure

It does seem really young. At first I thought he knocked it loose but he insisted he didn't, and I didn't hear any thuds lol. He was just at the dentist a little over a month ago and they weren't loose then. I just definitely wasnt expecting this so soon! Good thing I happen to have a $1 in my purse lol.

It's not uncommon for little ones to lose their teeth at such a young age when they cut their teeth as early as he did.

You don't hear of it very often though.

Yeah everything I'm reading online says the same. Hmm. Weird! When it came out he told me the sugar bugs did it lol. The dentist told him sugar bugs happen when you eat too much candy!

Wowie! My six and a half year old hasn't lost any teeth yet... so I am a bit worried on the other side of the spectrum.

Isn't it cool how different the norms can be?

The earlier they get their teeth the earlier they tend to lose them according to our dentist which is why mine have been late to lose theirs. My son lost his first 2 days before he turned 7, but my nephew lost his first about 6 months before he turned 5.

SleepingBeautee according to our dentist as long as on the x-rays it looks like things are coming along just fine he doesn't get worried until they hit 8 or so and haven't lost any. They did insist on x-rays at 6 years though to make sure things look okay.
