Can anyone explain in simple terms what the point is to those

can anyone explain in simple terms what the point is to those
"management " games (if that is what they are called)
daughter (5) has an i pad
downloaded some kid apps
there is a dino land and a fish tank thing
i have never gotten into these things
i know they exist, had many a friend on fb request stuff for those things

i am thinking....
it is an environment you set up and it takes many days/weeks
it teaches delayed gratification
what else is the point?

  • I have no idea... but I HATE those kinds of games. I think it teaches people to obsessively check their game to see if anything new has happened and/or watch the clock and rush to the computer to complete task.

  • The kind that are on fb are very dumbed down - anyone can play them "well". If she likes them, try getting her a real one like SimCity or Zoo Tycoon or Roller Coaster Tycoon. Those teach math, strategy, spacial recognition (can't build your stuff there if it won't fit, if you can't make it fit, you may be stuck). They have actual story lines and missions and goals, not just mindless clicking.

  • is it too young for a 5.5 yo
    if it takes days to gain coins to gt things for your tank or dino park

    and
    are 'they' serious about buying more coin things! like real money?...it did not like pretend to me when they ask if you want to purchase coins
