Why is my cat a bad jumper? She's 3 and always misses and has to try again.

She's not fat either...???

  • I thnk it depends on their senses working properly and also their personality. I have one cat that noticeably seems to have problems smelling things and has to go real close compared to the others. Then, another seems nearsighted and his pupil sizes are different in each eye. The one that miscalculates distances is the smallest one who also has the most ballsy personality (too optimistic about her abilities). All of their quirks are what make them entertaining.

  • I had a dog like that! He would slip and hit his chin (HARD) on the steps trying to run up them!

  • Oh poor kitty.... I think you need to ask the Vet. Maybe the cat has cataracts or something.....

  • Does your cat have her claws? Declawed cats can have a lot of trouble jumping and balancing.

Or she might just be graceless. My cat has all the agility and stealth of an elephant with a wooden leg.

  • Fat AND dumb can be pretty cute in kitties though!
You may have something with the vision....hmmmmm

  • Also, there maybe something wrong with her ears.
Does she have a stub tail? I have noticed that some cats that have shorter tails have some balance problems.

  • One of our cats isn't that good at jumping either, but she is a GREAT climber. She could have issues with her ears or eyes or even her tail. I'd just have the vet check her out on the next visit.
