Being a step mom, would my mother be my step daughters step-grandmother?

Being a first time step mom I need to know about how my family can be her family

  • My daughter has step grandparents and even step great grand parents......we treat them just like the "regular" ones.

  • Why do you have to use the word step? I have 2 grandsons that I love equally even though the oldest is not biologically related to us. I don't treat him any differently than his younger brother. There is no step in this family and there are no inlaws either. I have 4 sons and 2 daughters even though the daughters were inherited by marriage.

  • In my case anyone in my stepmom's family is step-something (Step-aunt, step-cousin, etc.).... however, my daughter calls my stepmom Grandma.

I'm not too keen on step/half but I don't have that great of a relationship with my step-relatives.

  • In all honesty they, like you, are nothing to her.
