My five year old niece is doing "ou" words for spelling. One of her words is "hound" and one of her assignments is to make up five songs for five words to help her remember how to spell her words. She joked that she had the perfect songs for when her words were bologna and Bingo. Since I have a basset hound named Sammy, she used him as inspiration to come up with a song for "hound".
Here is her song, to the tune of the Oscar Meyer Bologna song.
"My aunt's doggy has a first name
My aunt's doggy has a second name
I love to pet him every day
And play hide-and-seek in the hay
And I feed him lots of tasty treats
I thought that was just the cutest thing! She says that she wants to sing it to the dog when she's at my house today!
