What constitutes the "work of Jesus"?

ANd how does one distinguish between being a good person and the works of Jesus?

Also, if one claims to do the work of Jesus, can they use this as an excuse to be rude and obnoxious?

  • That question cannot be answered in 940 characters. The Bible says that the world could not contain all the volumes that would be filled if all the works of Jesus should be written down. And it further states that there is "none good but God" so that would mean that there is no such thing as a "good person." The first verse is found in John 21:25 and the second is located in Mark 10:18.

  • I always took it to mean doing some of the good deeds he did in the bible, like taking care of the poor and sick.

Any one can do these things of course, but Christians can claim they are following his actions.

And I don't recall Jesus being rude or obnoxious, so I don't think that's excused.

  • ive always considered the works of Jesus to be things like feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, healing the sick, visiting the imprisoned, etc. ya know...all those things the religious right wants the govt to stop doing for ppl...

and yes, some Christians do use this as an excuse to be obnoxious...look at the WBC. they think they are doing the work of Jesus and they are beyond rude.

  • To me, doing the "work of Jesus" is doing what He tells you to do... If you are doing what He wants of you, then you are doing His work. And any one can be rude and obnoxious.... but everyone should ask forgiveness from those around them when they act in such a way.
