Ugh I need springtime!

I love Fall & Winter, but I need the sunshine! My depression & mood in general get so much worse the farther into winter it gets. Somebody in Florida, California, Louisiana, etc. want to let me move in with you? ;) Anyone else have S.A.D.?

  • I bought a lightbox that simulates the full spectrum of sunshine. I got it for $120 and it was the best money I ever spent.

  • I did when I lived in Wisconsin and Illinois. I would go weeks without seeing sunshine, and it was so depressing. I moved to Las Vegas in 2005, and my mood has been normal all winter. It's almost always sunny here.

  • If I have it, it is mild. I do feel less energized with overcast skies. But too much sun does the same, lol.

My father made us bundle into warm coats and open all the windows at least once every month. He firm;ly believed that the recycled air made for depression. We always had our curtains pulled back as well, during the daytime. Ihope you get some sun soon and feel better.

  • Not officially, but yes. I've been taking a vit D supplement this year and it's helping. I can tell if I don't get outside for a few days - I usually get out daily - driving for about 1.5 hours in full daylight.

  • Thanks everybody! Ballad, what brand do you have? I've looked at them before, but I want to know I'm getting a good one before forking over that kind of cash.
