If Mac n cheese is a side dish what would go best as the main dish. No hot dogs. Something like chicken? But what kind?

We are have our nieces with their husbands over for the weekend. They are in their late twenties and early thirties and we are the "cool" aunts. They both live in NYC so it's just a family weekend but it still needs to be family and fun. Thanks!

  • baked chicken. Dredge it in eggs then roll it in a mixture of parmasean cheese and bread crumbs, you could even cut it in strips for the kiddos. Burgers, bbq chicken, baked fish(Tilapia made in the same bread crumb mix as above)

  • I think you should have wingettes, everyone loves them, They are just the right size, and they are great for parties. Try the different sauces with them...Ranch style, Bar-B-Cue, Hot Sauce, Honey Mustard. etc, etc,.

  • I usually serve either oven-fried chicken, barbecue chicken, or baked chicken nuggets with mac and cheese. Also smoked sausage or baked tuna patties.

  • At my house Mac & cheese usually is the main dish. I see no reason to *have* to add a protein when Cheese is already a protein. I just make two good veggies to go with it.
