  • Neither. We don't hunt and we certainly don't need a gun for protection.

  • Not me. I have kids instead.

Seriously worry about the stability of people who keep both in the same house.

  • I have them for hunting & protection. I'm home alone with my kids a good portion of the year. Ill put it this way the doors I lock are for your protection not mine, cause ill blow your ass away.

  • We have one. We use it for both. Everyone I know who owns guns use them for both, and they keep them unloaded and loaded in a gun safe.

  • I have, licensed to me:
    ~ Glock Model 37 .45 cal (semi-auto pistol with a 10-round mag)
    ~ Jennings .9mm (semi-auto pistol with a 10 or 12-round mag ... really can't remember since the POS broke)
~ Taurus Titanium .38 (5-shot revolver) but hubby uses that one.

Hubby also has a .38 caliber derringer.

We also have all of his dad's rifles and shotguns.

The handguns are for home protection and the rifles are because they were his dad's.

We had our guns in the same house as our son. It wasn't a problem because we taught him about gun safety.

The problem arises when you have irresponsible gun owners who either falsely believe that their kids will never touch them or just don't give a shit.

  • I am going to start shooting classes and then buy a gun. It will only be used for protection purposes.
