  • -Look up some easy recipes online and make some fun snacks!
-Try making home made play dough! That was always a hit in my home :)
-Paints and craft time? The dollar store has tons of cheap easy crafts for kids.

  • Send em outside. My boys shovel sidewalks for most of our neighbor hood so that keeps them busy for a few hours

  • Give them spray bottles of colored water and have them go make paintings in the snow...

  • Make snowmen, have snowball fights, snow angels, drink hot cocoa, have a fire in the fireplace.

  • Well given my DS is sick. I usually just bring out the paint and let them paint at the table.

  • If it's too cold to go out, we do peanut butter playdough. Mix equal parts peanut butter, honey, and powdered milk. It's fun to squish around and yummy to eat.

Or we have a beach picnic. We spread a blanket on the floor, put on shorts and sandals, and munch fruit and cut-up sandwiches.

  • Yep- since all the schools are closed today, she WILL be going out to play at some point. The boys are going to shovel & we went to the video game store on Monday when we were off, so they have new games to play. :) Don't know the ages of your kids or what they like to do most, but I would make the day/weekend a combination of some chores or household projects they can help with & family time fun, like board games, Wii games, or any kind of arts/crafts you know how to do. I plan on a nap later myself! lol :p

    *kicking the snow
    *colored spray bottles
*blowing bubbles (the bubble will freeze)
    *making tracks (with small cars)
