How many of these questions did you answer yes to?

Whether you just had a baby or not, Just wondering!

If you're still not feeling like yourself three months after giving birth, ask yourself the following questions, which were developed by the Postpartum Stress Center: in Rosemont, Pennsylvania. Do you:

• have trouble sleeping?
• feel exhausted most of the time?
• have less of an appetite?
• worry about little things that never used to bother you?
• wonder whether you'll ever have time to yourself again?
• think your children would be better off without you?
• worry your partner will get tired of you feeling this way?
• snap at your partner and children frequently?
• think other moms are better mothers than you are?
• cry over small things?
• no longer enjoy the things you used to enjoy?
• isolate yourself from your friends and neighbors?
• fear leaving the house or being alone?
• have anxiety attacks?
• have unexplained anger?
• have difficulty concentrating?
• think something is wrong with you?
• feel like you'll always feel this way and never get better?

I answered yes to almost all of them.

  • most of them...i wish i had the loss of appetite haha.

i suffered from moderate PPD after my DD was born and just having the above problems would have been nice. its deeper than just feeling down...those questions sound more like the baby blues. i would think most of those are regular mom feelings, but its when those thoughts never go away and stay with you all day every day that you should go to the dr.

  • Well, when I had new babies, I was exhausted because I had to be up half the night. Not because I was having trouble sleeping, but because I was too busy with the baby or nursing so I couldn't sleep. I don't know any parents with babies who aren't zombies.

    I also answered yes to:
** worry about little things that never used to bother you? <<--Duh. Parents should never ever watch the news again.
** wonder whether you'll ever have time to yourself again? <<--I don't wonder this anymore now that the kids are in school, but it was 6 years before that.

  • Many of them, depending on the day. But I have depression, had it a long time before I gave birth, and will probably have it a long time after I'm dead.

  • Oh wait, it was 9 years before both kids were in school. Since I have never had a babysitter, it was 9 years before I stopped wondering when I would get time by myself. Dude, I am so glad I am done having babies.

  • About 3 of them, but I thought it was just because I'm a mom of 2 small children.
