What can you put on a busted lip to ease the pain?

My child has a cracked lip right in the center of the bottom lip. It's causing discomfort. What OTC item would work best?

  • Wait a minute, chapped lip cracking? Any non-petroleum chapstick will help especially before bed.

  • Just normal chap stick of some kind. Just have to keep applying it.

  • I honestly don't know. It does not look or feel chapped. She came home from school yesterday with her lip split in the middle. To me it looks like she fell and busted it. I've asked over and over and she says she doesn't know what happened. The teacher told me today in the car rider line she complained of it and she thinks it's chapped since she didn't witness her fall.

  • Dehydration and cold weather can do it. Get a moisturizing lip balm.

  • I'm using a regular chap stick. Didn't know they had a medicated type. Thanks!

  • Weather isn't cold here, but these 60 mph winds are crazy.
