If you had the ability to open up a restaurant....

be a partner (not necessarily cook). What kind would you want to open? What type of food would it serve?

Yes, it's lunch time so, my mind is on food.

  • Actually, my DH and I plan to open a small drive up soup restaurant when I retire. His parents live in a coastal tourist town, right on a busy road. We plan to buy their house when they down size. (they are talking about it now) build a small drive up soup kitchen, and open a place where people can buy homemade soup to take to the beach, home or the hotel room. There are no restaurants in the area who are doing anything like this. We think, since the weather is usually cool to cold, the tourists and the locals would like warm, home cooked soup. What do you guys think? Would you be interested in something like this. Please be honest. If this sounds like an awful idea I want to know. It's just in the dream faze right now.

  • Retro. I would use all those nasty cookbooks and hire a chef who can modernize them into something edible that looks good too.

  • A community soup kitchen. All ran on donations. You pay what you think the meal was worth or volunteer your time washing dishes/prepping food. No taxes because it's donation only.
