why do you drop people from friends list?

I just got dropped from a couple of peoples friends list, I hope I didn't do anything to offend them, I have been on Cafemom a few months now, so I'm sorta new and sorta old, I haven't felt need to drop anybody unless lots of group messages. what about you?

  • If you never talk to them sometimes they will delete you...It makes sense to me, you know?

  • I wouldnt worry about it. If I have been dropped I honestly havent noticed. Its kinda like myspace so, unless you really know these ppl then dont take it personally!

  • Yeah, if someone invites me but then I never hear from them again (I mean months and months), I delete them. No harm intended as I like to make new online friendships but only if people talk. lol

  • I only drop people if they ask for money or try to sell me stuff but never say anything else. I do have my friends list set to remove non members. I'm the worst when it comes to keeping up though. I don't check my activity list often enough, of course I have a lot of friends and if someone posts a lot or leaves a lot of comment then everything gets pushed off the page.

  • I had one friend tell me that she was harrassed in another group and thought since she didn't know me well and I didn't respond to her email that I may have been a spy so she dropped me.

  • If I have not talked to someone in months I usually take them off my list.

  • Sometimes I add someone because we were talking about something specific for a period of time, but then, once that topic was done, we really didn't have anything in common. Usually, I still don't drop them (because I don't really take the time to do it, not because I care either way really).

But, if they are very active here - which isn't a bad thing - but it sort of clogs up my stuff, like I don't really need 3 messages that they've changed their thought bubble, 4 saying they have journal entries, one saying they've added pictures, etc, when I don't really know them or have anything in common with them, and I have to wade through all of that to see what the people I do know or are friends with are doing...

It's not anything personal against them, it's just more a matter of cleaning up my page - sort of like throwing out a phone number of someone you don't really ever talk to anymore - nothing personal - just "cleaning up"

  • I dont have something that tells me about friends thought bubbles or journal entries, I wonder if it is because I have too many friends

  • Maybe they're just updating or cleaning up their "desk" space, so to speak. I wouldn't worry about it.
